It is Jessica's belief that anyone with a joy and love for music with a keen interest and commitment can learn the harp.
Jessica started teaching at the age of 16 and since then has taught students of all levels and ages, from children as young as 9 to 65 year-old retirees ranging from beginner to advanced musical competency.
Lessons involve harp technique, music reading, aural training, performance skills and general music theory and history. She can prepare students for VCE music as well as AMEB exams if they desire. Additionally Jessica has worked as an orchestral coach for various youth orchestras in Canada and Australia and can coach students for orchestral auditions, music competitions and conservatory/university entrance exams.
With over 12 years experience working in new music scenes in Australia and Europe, Jessica has worked with a number of contemporary composers. Including Brett Dean, Paul Dean, Andrew Ford and Stuart Greenbaum. She has coached numerous student composers and run workshops and demonstrations for composers in Australia, Canada and China.
Jessica has given numerous harp demonstration concerts and interactive talks/performances. She loves sharing the harp with new audiences around the world.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Music Degree with honours from The University of Melbourne Conservatory of Music, The Victorian College of the Arts and Music Faculty. Jessica also completed three years at the prestigious Australian National Academy of Music.
Her principal teachers include head of harp at Melbourne University, Monash University and the Australian National Academy of Music Jacinta Dennett, world-renown harp soloist Alice Giles and renowned Australian harpist, teacher, music curator and conductor Marshall McGuire.
She has also studied privately with the legendary harp soloist and recording artist Isabelle Moretti, distinguished soloists and teachers Isabelle Perrin, Heidi Krutzen, Stephen Fitzpatrick (principal harpist Staatskapelle Berlin), and Karen Vaugn (head of harp at the Royal Academy in London.
